Mayor's Community and Civic Awards

This year with the support of the Hunts Post our annual Civic Awards for an individual and corporate were augmented with three Community Awards for Individual, Group and Young Person.  An Awards Breakfast hosted by Mayor, Cllr Barry Chapman was held on Saturday 15 September at the Priory Centre where he was joined by community group members, local councillors and the Town Crier.
Community Individual was presented to Reginald Searle, founder of St Neots Choral Society and St Neots Symphonia Orchestra for his contribution to the cultural life of St Neots.

Community Group was presented to Peppercorns Academy Music School and Theatre Company who help children achieve their very best in performing arts 
Community Young Person awarded to Zac Stimson who is a member of St Neots 2500 Air Training Corps who is an excellent musician playing both drums and the pipes.  Flight Lieutenant David Webb accepted the award on his behalf.
Civic Corporate was presented to Wyboston Lakes who make a major contribution to employment, leisure and the economic vibrancy of St Neots

The most prized Civic Individual was awarded to Mrs Prue Gardiner for her energy and enthusiasm in helping others through her work as a volunteer at the CAB.  For over 20 years Prue he has helped local residents who have nowhere else to turn.
