Charity Cake Sale for Papworth Trust raises £171.00!

Our first charity cake sale received tremendous support, we couldn't have asked for a better turn out!  Thank you to all who made cakes and to those who came along to buy some.  £171.48 was raised It has helped raise much needed funds for local charity Papworth Trust who provide support for over 20,000 disabled people living in the East of Anglia.

Local charities receive donations from the Mayor of St Neots

At the Annual Town Meeting of St Neots Town Council, Mayor of St Neots, Cllr Barry Chapman presented cheques to his nominated charities for the year 2012-2013.  A fantastic amount of £11,000 was raised which would not have been achieved without the help of local businesses, groups and residents of St Neots.

Star for a Star raises over £1000 for Mayor's Charities

Darren Barker, Funeral Director at Anglia Co-Operative presents a cheque for £1,122 to Mayor of St Neots, Cllr Barry Chapman.  Residents of St Neots decorated stars in memory of their loved ones which were then hung on the town's Xmas tree in the Market Square.

Mayor of St Neots Charity Ball Rasies over £5000!

On Friday 1st March 2013 Mayor, Cllr Barry Chapman, hosted his annual charity ball at the Priory Centre in St Neots.  Over 200 guests attended and included MP, Jonathan Djanogly and his wife Rebecca, Civic Leaders and members of the public.

A raffle on the night raised over £1,000 with prizes donated from local businesses including a gold necklace from Goldstraws Goldsmiths, annual fitness membership from One Leisure and a season ticket from St Neots Football Club.

The money raised will go to St John's Hospice in Moggerhanger, dementia sufferers and carers in the St Neots area and the St Neots Air Training Corps.

The evening was a great success with entertainment from local magician Lee Walker and popular band Life and Soul with guests dancing the night away until the early hours.

On behalf of Cllr Chapman we would like to thank all those who helped make this ball the success it was.

Charity Fashion Show a Sellout

On Wednesday 24 October 2012 St Neots hosted it's first charity fashion show at the Priory Centre.  Local retailers came together to put on two catwalk shows which were a huge success and a credit to all those who volunteered.

A total of £1,673.96 was raised which will be divided equally between Cancer Research UK and the Mayor's charities for 2012/2013.  The show was hosted by Mark Hansard and Pete Revell presenters of our community radio station Black Cat Radio with lighting provided by Sound and Light Partnership.


Retailers showcased their autumn and winter collections from Beales, Beautiful Swagger, Bon Marche, Chanceuse Lingerie, Edinburgh Woollen mill, Goldstraw Goldsmiths, M&Co, New Look, Scope, Specsavers and Wallis.  Hair and make up were created by Benefit, Estee Lauder, Molbys and Saints.

Cllr Barry Chapman, Mayor of St Neots said "A wonderful evening of fun and fashion enjoyed by hundres of people showcasing our local retailers.  Fantastic prizes, free goody bags and much raised for charities.  A brilliant reminder of what is available in St Neots and why we should shop locally."

Upside Down Club - Cheque Presentation

On Sunday 15th July 2012 our Deputy Mayor, Cllr Andrew Hansard attended the 25th anniversary party of the Upside Down Club.  At the party a cheque for £500 was presented to the club from the Mayor's Charity fun.

Headway Charity Donation


Our Deputy Mayor, Cllr Andrew Hansard and Cllr Stephen Davison presented Headway Cambridge with a cheque for £2,000 from the Mayor of St Neots charity fund.  Cllr Davison had also raised over £300 through his sponsored bungee jump that he did last year

Mayor of St Neots Charity Golf Day - 23 August 2012


Each year the Rotary Club of St Neots St Marys organises a Charity Golf Day on behalf of the Mayor of St Neots with all proceeds going to local charities and this year the event will be held on Thursday 23rd August.  Wybsoton Lakes are once again the generous hosts and provide the course, bacon rolls and coffee before you start and a super buffet afterwards.

Prizes include rounds of golf at one of a number of prestigious courses, a car for a hole in one at the 7th and major prizes for an ace at the other 4 par three holes.

Stars for a Star - Anglia Co-op St Neots

Darren Baker, Director of Anglia Co-operative Funerals present a cheque for £1,685 to the Mayor of St Neots charity fund.  The money was raised through their Stars for a Star scheme where residents of St Neots make a donation to have a star hung on the town's christmas tree in the Market Square.  This is it's second year of running and is growing in popularity.

Mayor's Charity Golf Day - August 2011

A massive £8,000 raised at St Neots charity golf day.  The event held at Wyboston Lakes was the 14th year the competition had been organised by The Rotary Club of St Neots St Marys and this annual event has now raised in excess of £80,000 for charity.


Wyboston Lakes not only hosted the event but were one of many sponsors including Barclays Bank, Murco Kings Lane Garage and Vindis to name but a few.

A big thank you to all players, helpers and sponsors who helped make this event such a great success.

Headway Charity Bungee Jump

 

Cllr Stephen Davison has raised £362.00 for Headway Cambridgeshire, one of our Town Mayor’s chosen charities.  Cllr Davison launched himself off a 300ft high crane in Windsor on Bank Holiday Monday, he said “the scariest part is waiting on the edge of the platform but once you jump it is just an amazing experience”!  Cllr Davison would like to say a big thank you to all who sponsored him.
Kate Ward of Headway says “we would very much like to thank you for showing your support for the work we do helping brain injured adults, their families and carers, across Cambridgeshire. We rely on fundraising and donations to help support the high quality service we aim to provide not just at our day centres, but also in the community as a whole”.
