St Neots Infant Music Festival

On Tuesday July 9th the Mayor of St Neots, Cllr Andrew Hansard, attended the St Neots Infant Music Festival held at the Priory Centre.  Twelve schools from St Neots and the local area were there to sing on the theme of Maths.

Cllr Hansard said “They gave a delightful performance in singing six songs with actions about numbers.  The vigour and intensity of the children was a total enjoyment to watch.  As it was a glorious summers day most of the children went off for a picnic in the park after the concert and well deserved it was”.

Armed Forces Day - Flag raising

“ On Friday June 29th  the Mayor and a number of councillors from St. Neots Town Council together with staff and ex servicemen and standard bearers from the Royal Navy Association, British Legion and the Royal Airforce Association, held a short ceremony at the Priory Centre to commemorate Armed Forces Day and raise the Armed Forces Flag.

Mayor and Deputy Mayor of St Neots, members of St Neots Town Council and the Standard Bearers
Because of various logistical reasons a larger ceremony could not be held this year, as it was last year but arrangements are already being discussed for a full event next year, possibly on the Riverside Park.  The Council is very conscious of the part the Armed Forces play in everyday life and of the hardships faced by those serving overseas and are determined to give them  the proper and overt recognition they deserve. “
